Reduce technical risk and accelerate deployment for Modular Open Standard Architectures (MOSA) systems.
Typically, customers will take the chassis platform from Pixus and do the integration of the Plug In Cards (PICs) themselves, along with their software. But sometimes customers want a certain degree of integration and related testing to be completed before it arrives on their dock.
Pixus Technologies provides Level 4 pre-integration services to identify and resolve potential integration issues.
Pixus starts with a basic power-up test of the various PICs in the system, ensuring that they are working/compatible with the enclosure. Our engineers perform functional testing to confirm:
Mechanical fit of all cards
Electrical interface of the cards – communication is being achieved across the modules.
Initialization errors and similar issues during bring-up.

Streamline procurement by choosing the model that fits your program.
Supply PICs directly to our facility.
Options for Pixus to procure the PICs directly.
Options for Pixus to support PIC selection.
Managed logistics and lead times.
We verify that every card is compatible with the backplane according to the specifications:
Ensuring PICs have compatible slot profiles and protocols.
Power up of all cards in the system and basic communication verification.
Proper connections for I/O, CLKs, and other signaling
Optional interface with PIxus’ SOSA Aligned Chassis Hardware Management Card or other specialty boards.
More options upon request.
Workflow designed for aerospace and defense applications.
ISO 9001:2015
Options for AS9100D.
Signal integrity simulation
Thermal management simulation
Options for 3rd party MIL qualification testing
Resolving interoperability issues during pre-integration provides a stable platform for software development, preventing hardware variables from delaying the project.
We manage backplane signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, I/O management, and more. This allows your team to focus on mission-specific software and high-level logic.
Pixus acts as a single supplier for the integrated system, simplifying the supply chain and making future upgrades simpler and less costly.
High-power modules generate heat loads that must be managed. We use simulation software to model based on your specific application environment (ambient temperatures, altitude, conditions of the environment, etc), ensuring cooling strategies—forced air, conduction, or liquid—perform as expected.
Optional qualification testing for integrated systems:
MIL-STD-810 (Shock/Vibration)
MIL-STD-461 (EMI)
DO-160 (Airborne Environments)
MIL-STD-167
MIL-STD-704
